Ponte Vedra Beach, FL September 15, 2004 -- Glenn Ullmann, president of Ponte Vedra, FL-based Ullmann Financial Group (www.ullmannfinancial.com), today announces the release of his new book, Landing A Smooth Retirement: The Only Financial Planning Book Youll Ever Need (Xlibris Corporation, 140 pages, $19.95 pb). Using true and practical examples, the book illustrates how to secure a smooth retirement while meeting personal objectives along the way.

One of the reasons I wrote Landing A Smooth Retirement was to show people how easy it can be to attain financial independence, said Ullmann. My goal is to get readers excited about defining their personal goals and taking control of their financial future.

According to a 2002 UBS/Paine Webber Retirement Study poll conducted by the Gallup Organization, 30% of all people surveyed said they have no plan for reaching retirement and investment goals and 39% percent of those surveyed said they have a plan but no specific written plan to reach their retirement and investment goals. Only 31% said they have a written plan to meet their retirement goals.

In Landing A Smooth Retirement Ullmann explains how everyone can maximize their financial performance by: clearly defining goals; developing, implementing and monitoring a written plan; using self-discipline and letting professionals guide financial decisions. Ullmann uses simple, relevant, and entertaining stories about airplanes, cows, knights and peasants to introduce readers to the four core principles of financial success:

- A Written Financial Plan
- The Power of Advice
- Simplicity
- Optimism

Ullmann graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management with an emphasis in Finance. He attended flight training and then flew on active duty for seven years, including missions during the Iran/Iraq War as well as a three year tour as a flight instructor. While stationed in Oklahoma, he earned a Master's degree in International Affairs from the University of Oklahoma. After leaving the service in the 1992, Ullmann joined the office of Smith Barney in Jacksonville. Prior to establishing Ullmann Financial, he was hired by Robert W. Baird & Company to open and manage their Jacksonville office. He grew the office from two to thirty employees in five years and was responsible for over $300 million in client assets. He established Ullmann Financial in 2002.

Landing A Smooth Retirement has received enthusiastic reviews from community leaders including business people, doctors and educators.

"Landing A Smooth Retirement is an excellent review of the most salient aspects of retirement planning, said Dr. Joseph Tepas, chief of pediatric surgery and chief of the trauma unit at University Hospital in Jacksonville. The style is appropriately casual, and the examples work well explaining some of the more arcane aspects of financial planning. Following the peasant with the checkerboard model, I am tempted to give a copy to each of our graduating chief residents to plant the seed early. It should be mandatory reading for every young professional starting his or her career!"

Ullmann Financial Group, a financial planning and investment management firm, manages more than $80 million in assets and works with more than 400 affluent households. Glenn Ullmann lectures throughout the country on the need for discipline, simplicity, optimism and professional advice to define and achieve lifelong goals.
